We are looking for someone communicative, dependable, friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking to support one of our beloved stores! As a store lead you will help guide daily operations and act as a second pair of eyes and ears to your store manager. You need to be good with people and be comfortable providing direction to fellow team members. And you should also love food and genuinely enjoy interacting with the public.

 

Shifts

We're looking for a full-time Lead to work 35-40 hours/week.

Right now, we’re in need of the following shifts. 

 

Monday – Sunday (5 day/week)

  • Opener: 6a – 3p
  • Closer: 3p – 930p
  • Weekends: 9a-5p or 8a-4p

 

Company background At Proper Food, we make it a cinch to eat well on the run. We craft our fare by hand fresh every morning the only we know how – with whole, local ingredients sliced, chopped and seasoned with care. Nothing phony or factory-made. Just good, proper food that’s packed and ready to go.

We cook all our meals from scratch each morning in our commissary kitchen and deliver them to our stores pre-packed and ready to go. At the end of each day, all unsold meals are donated to local food banks.

  • Previous experience as shift lead or supervisor in a restaurant or food-retail shop* 
  • Experience in catering and food delivery
  • Be flexible - be able to cover shifts in case of employee absence 
  • Train new employee on procedures & best practices

 

*We are willing to train the right person who may not have restaurant experience, as long as you have a great attitude and an excellent work ethic.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Provide support to store manager by helping to guide the flow of the day with regard to breaks, deliveries, peak times and to-dos
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the day
  • Process customer orders through POS
  • Heat food, brew coffee, pour soup
  • Merchandise & stock food throughout the day
  • Fulfill online orders
  • Execute daily & weekly cleaning tasks
  • Delivering catering orders by foot

Starting Compensation $16 - $17/hr
